We are Artists Inspiring the Raindrops, founded by Charity Oetgen, Emmalyn Tringali, and Jessica Necor, students at the Laguna College of Art + Design in Laguna Beach, California. This project was created to help organizations who are dedicated to making a positive change in the world. We work with non-profits who share our passion for humanity, wildlife, and the environment. In this team effort, of which you are a vital part, our contributions support the work of others.
We want to promote the creation of art for something larger than the individual experience. We want to use art to help fill a long standing need to make the world a better place. It is truly the international language of the world.
Our first community endeavor was to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit organization Women for World Health, founded by Laguna College of Art + Design professor Denise Cucurny. This is a group of compassionate people who provide medical treatment and education to people in developing nations around the world.
Our gratitude to all of those who helped us make our first fundraiser happen cannot be expressed enough. With the $16,225 we raised, Women for World Health was able to purchase necessary supplies, equipment, and supplement airfare to Bucharest, Romania. The equipment needed were a portable anesthesia machine, an electric dermatome and a skin mesher. This allowed them to perform skin grafts after releasing burn contractures which will make a huge impact because it will restore function such as moving limbs, turning the head or opening/closing the mouth. These medical procedures help save lives.
Artists Inspiring the Raindrops began as a small project with big dreams. We look forward to an abundant future made possible by art.
